Sheepway Road Closures from 29th June 2026
Road Closure – Portishead – Diversion information
National Rail are commencing work on the bridges around our field to improve their strength. During this time, there are road closures which will affect how you get to our location. We will remain open for the duration and you can access the field through the motorway end of Sheepway. The map below shows the entrance to use, which is off of the Portbury Hundred.
If coming from Gordano Motorway Roundabout, you will see the entrance to Sheepway on the right hand side as you travel towards Portishead. If you are coming from Portishead, you will need to enter the Portbury Hundred and half way down before the motorway, the turning will be on your left.
After Nala had surgery, it was important for us to be able to walk her in a quiet and safe space, she is a playful dog and often meets up with her friends when on walks. It was important that she could heal in a secure area without other dogs coming close. We searched for a Bristol Secure field and came across Sheepway!
Tiger likes to have space when he is out walking, his nose directs him for hours when we are out. Sometimes he just wants to sniff alone and not have the worry of other dogs coming up to him. Using a dog walking field allows him to have the space and time for me to sit down with a cup of tea after a long day.
Practicing our re-call with Max was easier when we had a field for our own use. We taught Max the basics in a space where there was limited distractions, we knew we had to do it with other dogs around in the end, but getting the basics correct first has led to a pleasant training experience.
