Terms and Conditions - Sheepway Dog Walking Field in Portishead

On arrival users of the field should have a good look around the field to make sure it is suitable for your dog/dogs to use. As much as we have made this field as secure as we possibly can, you know your dog and it’s nature. If you feel there is the possibility that it will dig under or jump over the fence then this field may not be appropriate for you and your dog.

The safety of both our canine and human clients is our highest priority and main concern. By making a booking for a session at Sheepway Secure Dog Field you are automatically agreeing to our terms and conditions. Any breach to these terms and conditions could lead to the removal of all future rights to use Sheepway Secure Dog Field

  • Please do not just turn up to use the field. All sessions are by appointment only and are booked via our secure website. You will be refused entry if you just turn up.
  •  The landowner will not be held responsible for any accident, loss, theft, injury, death or damage to any animals, individuals or personal property whilst using the secure field at Sheepway secure dog field.
  • Sheepway secure dog field reserves the right to withdraw permission to use the secure field at their discretion. If the right to use the secure field is withdrawn then Sheepway Secure Dog Field will not be liable for any other expenses incurred or lost because of the withdrawal of permission to use the secure field.
  • Only the person who places the booking may use the field, no subletting of the field is permitted.
  • The secure field is checked daily to ensure all fencing is secure and to make sure it is clean and tidy for the day ahead. We cannot take responsibility for any dog jumping the fence or escaping. If you find anything you are not happy with during your session please email the details to:
  • Please be aware that the ground can be uneven in places and so caution must be taken. The field is used entirely at your own risk.

  • Please do not try and climb on the fence. The fencing is specialist dog wire and while it is strong it will not withstand people trying to climb on it. It is also very expensive to replace!

ARRIVING FOR YOUR SESSION

  • Please be respectful and keep the noise to a minimum.
  • Please do not arrive early for your session. Please wait for the previous person using the field to leave the field and shut the gate behind them. 
  • Once they have vacated the field you can then enter the field. Please park on the hard standing inside the paddock and shut the gate. 
  • Entry to the secure field is using the code sent to you via email and text. The codes for the gate will be sent out on the day that you are booked in via text message to the mobile telephone number that was entered on the form that you filled in when booking. If an hour before your visit you haven’t received this text message then please text us on 07557 333690 so we can forward the message on.
  • Once you are in the secure field please close the gate behind you. The gate must be closed on entering and exiting the field.
  • You are only permitted to enter the secure field once the previous user is completely clear of the area.
  • Please do not move any of the equipment. It is here for you and your dogs enjoyment.
  • All dogs must be kept on the lead at all times until they are in the field. Once inside the field they can be let off the lead once the gate is firmly shut.
  • Please lock the gate when you are leaving the field, even if the next person is waiting to use the field. The gate must be kept closed at all times. 
  • You will find a dog waste bin inside the secure field. Please pick up all dog waste and put in the poo bin. Failure to remove all dog waste will result in you not being permitted to use the field again and any future bookings will be cancelled.
  • If you bring any of your own toys or training aids please remove them at the end of your session. Please do not leave any litter or uneaten treats in the field.
  • We accept no responsibility for any loss, damage or accidents whilst on the property. Any vehicles parked on the property are parked at the owners own risk.
  • As the secure field is located on a working farm we operate a no smoking policy.
  • Any damage caused to the equipment by digging, biting or chewing is considered completely unacceptable and could result in the removal of the right to use the secure field. Please do not climb on the equipment or let children climb on it.
  • You may use all of the equipment but it is entirely at your own risk. We will not take any responsibility for any injuries to you or your dogs while using our equipment.
  • Please be aware that any damaged caused by you or your dog must be paid for. It is recommended that you have third party dog insurance. By booking the secure field you are agreeing to take full financial responsibility for any damage caused by you or your dog.
  • Once puppies have received all their vaccinations they are welcome to use the field. This is usually after 8 weeks of age.
  • The landowner accepts no liability for any death or injury or illness to any person or dog that uses our secure field. 
  • If you wish to enjoy the field with other users then you are able to do so. There is an extra charge for any extra dogs after the two that are allowed. There is car parking for 2 cars with a maximum of 6 dogs per session booked.

PLEASE BE AWARE BEFORE BOOKING THAT:

  •  We do not have any toilet facilities here at Sheepway Secure Dog Field 
  • Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. The field can be muddy after rain and so wellies will be necessary. We cannot make exceptions for the weather. Please check the weather forecast before booking your session and reschedule if you feel your dog will not enjoy the weather otherwise you will still be charged for your session.
  • Please be aware that the ground is uneven in places and so caution should be taken when walking around.
  • You may want to bring a towel with you for cleaning your dog up.
  • You know your own dog and it’s character. On each visit please look at the fences and assess that they are adequate to keep your dog secure if it likes to dig or jump.
  • Please do not leave your dog unattended at any time.
  • Please keep noise to a reasonable level so as not to upset people in the surrounding properties.
  • Your booking is only confirmed once you’ve received a confirmation email and payment has been processed.
  • When not in the secure field dogs must be kept on a lead at all times.
  • All children under 16 must be supervised by a responsible adult.
  • Choke chains and electrical devices are not allowed. Violent handling of dogs either verbally or physically is not allowed.
  • No vehicles must be parked on the grass.
  • Female dogs that are on heat are allowed in the secure field but must be kept under control and on a lead when outside of the secure field.
  • During extreme weather we may have the need to close the secure field down. We will always contact you prior to your appointment if this is necessary and reschedule as appropriate.
  • If you have to leave your session early or do not turn up for your session you will still have to pay the full cost of your session.
  • Please remember that we are a working farm and so there could be animals around. 
  • Please be aware that we have no control over things that are not happening on our land and so we cannot be held responsible or guarantee that your walk will be completely tranquil. There will be buses, lorries, dogs and horses going along the road.
  • Please be aware that we have no flood lights so if you are using the field in the dark them please have a good torch with you.

 

DOG WALKERS

  • If you are a dog walker or trainer wanting to book the secure field for walking clients dogs then please contact us before booking. You must hold your own insurance to cover you for this as our insurance will not cover you and we take no responsibility.
  • The government guidelines for dog walkers must still be followed even though you are in a secure area.

REFUNDS AND CANCELLATIONS 

  • It is better to reschedule an appointment than to cancel it. You can do this up to 24 hours before your session is due to start.
  • If you do not turn up to your booked session or you cut your session short you will still be charged for the full session booked.
  • If you arrive late for your session then then the booking time cannot be extended and you forfeit that time.
  • We reserve the right to close the field at any time, for which a full refund will be given or the opportunity to reschedule. If we cancel the session then the field user/ person who booked will be notified.
  • If there is a slot available that you would like to book then you can book the secure field up to 30 minutes before the time that it is due to start.

ILLNESS

If the dogs that are booked in or any dog in your household that they come into contact with has diarrhoea, vomiting or kennel cough then it is essential that you cancel your session. If this occurs with less than 24 hours until the time of your session then please contact us on 07557 333690 and we will reschedule your session so you don’t lose your booking payment.

DEFLEA, WORMING AND VACCINATIONS

  • These must all be up to date before you use the field. We may do random checks to ensure they are.
  • Please treat your dogs at appropriate intervals for fleas and ticks.

AND FINALLY

  • Sessions start promptly on the hour and are 50 minutes long. (If you have driven to our location, this allows you 10 minutes to get your dog back into the car and ready to leave site, before the next session starts.
  • Please keep to these timings so that the change over runs as smoothly as possible and to avoid dogs meeting.
  • Please look at the website to see if the time you would like to book is available. If it is not on the website then it is unavailable.
  • While using Sheepway Secure Dog Field you are responsible for your safety and the safety of your dog at all times. This includes when you are entering and exiting the field.
  • You are using Sheepway Secure Dog Field entirely at your own risk.
  • We will not take any responsibility for any damage caused to you, your property or your dogs.

COST PER SESSION (50 minute session and then 10 minutes to get your dog back in car and vacate the field for the next person).
