About Sheepway Dog Walking Field in Portishead

Secure Dog Walking field in Bristol

Our field is a safe space for owners and their pets to enjoy close to Portishead & the M5 Motorway – Gordano Junction. Please drive slowly into the driveway, the secure walking field is located to the left when you enter through the driveway.

You will see a large deer gate, this is the entrance to Sheepway Secure Dog Field. If you are early please park away from the field to allow the previous user the chance to finish and vacate before your session starts.  We ask that everyone allows 10 minutes at the end of the session to pack up and leave the site.

The gate may be secured with a combination padlock. You should use the code that was sent to you in the confirmation email after making your booking. If there was no code sent, then the field will be open ready for you to use.

Open the gate, drive in and shut the gate behind you.

Once the gate is securely shut you are then free to enjoy the field for your allotted time.

Please remember that we will often have back to back walking sessions and that our next guest may be waiting at the end of your session. Please allow yourself time at the end of your session to pack up and leave – If your dog is a little more difficult to get back into the car, please allow extra time for packing up. We all know that pets like to play up when were on a timescale!

Please ensure that the gate is closed when you leave, if there was a padlock on the gate when you arrived. please put the padlock back on and securing it back to the locked position.

If you need help whilst you are on site, there is a telephone number for our Field Manager located on the signs to the entrance.

Most importantly – enjoy the space for you and your pooch!

After Nala had surgery, it was important for us to be able to walk her in a quiet and safe space, she is a playful dog and often meets up with her friends when on walks. It was important that she could heal in a secure area without other dogs coming close.

Tiger likes to have space when he is out walking, his nose directs him for hours when we are out. Sometimes he just wants to sniff alone and not have the worry of other dogs coming up to him. Using a dog walking field allows him to have the space and time for me to sit down with a cup of tea after a long day.

Practicing our re-call with Max was easier when we had a field for our own use. We taught Max the basics in a space where there was limited distractions, we knew we had to do it with other dogs around in the end, but getting the basics correct first has led to a pleasant training experience.
